CORONAVIRUS UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2020

Applications for School of English and Culture summer courses for 2021 are now open. If you were previously booked on to a 2020 course and did not ask for your booking to be cancelled, your place is secure and your application can be completed at your earliest convenience.

In the current climate of uncertainty, we realise that circumstances may alter between now and next summer. We will be as flexible as we possibly can if Covid-19 means your plans need to change and you can request a refund at any time up to 30 June 2021 without losing your deposit.

You can also rest assured that we will operate in line with government guidelines around social distancing and safety to ensure the wellbeing of all our guests and staff.

Facilities

Marlborough College has many facilities available for use by MCSEC students. These include:

state of the art, 25 metre, competition, indoor swimming pool which opened in 2003. The pool is generally available for MCSEC students every weekday afternoon. A member of staff will be present to help organise a game of water polo for those who enjoy the water but aren’t keen on swimming lengths!

The College has an excellent sports hall complex. There are indoor cricket nets and facilities for a range of sports including indoor tennis, netball, basketball, volleyball and badminton. Both the MCSEC boarding houses have football pitches nearby, in addition to outdoor tennis and basketball courts which will be available for students to use during their free time.

Film making has been a popular aspect of the course since our first year. The students who opt for this course will edit their creations in The Apple Mac Suite of the Information Technology department.

Students will also have the chance to scale the walls of the College’s Climbing Wall, which is housed in the Outdoor Activities Department.

Each course will host a visiting special guest or performer, who will likely be putting on a performance in one of the College’s three specially-equipped theatres and concert halls.
