Jewellery making for beginners and improvers

Are you interested in designing and making your own jewellery? On this course, you will enjoy creating your own unique pieces for yourself, as a gift or for a special occasion. You will discover a variety of techniques in the art of jewellery making and will complete projects each day to take home, including a single strand necklace, earrings, a Kumihimo bracelet and a wire wrapped crystal or button ring. All levels are welcome and no previous experience is required.

What you'll learn

Create your own unique pieces for yourself, as a gift or for a special occasion. You will be shown a variety of techniques in the art of Jewellery making and will complete projects each day to take away with you. Learn the basic techniques of designing and making your own jewellery including:

Day 1 - Design and make a single Strand Necklace

Day 2 - Create a Bracelet & Earrings

Day 3 - Make a Kumihimo Bracelet - a Japanese form of braiding using a disc.

Day 4 - Make a Wire wrapped Crystal or Button Ring - an introduction to wirework.

Day 5 - Free design -using the techniques you have learnt.


Are there any other costs?

The cost of beads, findings, wire and cord are included in the cost of this course.

Students will be able to choose their own beads from a selection available during the class. Students can take home any completed jewellery pieces made during the course.

There is no need to purchase any materials or tools, prior to the course start, as these will be available for use, in the classroom.
If you already have your own jewellery making tools you may find it useful to bring them with you.

At an additional cost, students can purchase tools, equipment from the tutor. Students can also purchase beads, findings and cord for their own personal use, outside of the course.
